About Us

Welcome to Misty’s Malt Shop—a beloved Keosauqua tradition since 2003! Misty’s journey began right here in the shop, working through high school and falling in love with the atmosphere, the people, and the joy of serving great food. One day, she “got a wild hair” and decided to buy the business—and the rest is history!

Today, Misty is still in the shop most days, personally involved in every detail to ensure the quality and care our customers have come to expect. Locally owned and operated, we’re proud to serve up favorites like our tenderloins and juicy hamburgers, alongside hearty wraps, sandwiches, and a full breakfast menu available until 10 AM. And of course, we’re home to the World Famous Black Raspberry Ice Cream—a recipe Misty created herself that’s literally known across the globe! Pair it with one of our creamy shakes or malts for the ultimate treat.

Misty's is the kind of Mom and Pop food stand you hope you stumble upon and let me just say, I am so glad I did. The burger was cooked fresh and really good but the shake, oh my gosh THE SHAKE. It was a boiling hot day when I got the chocolate shake and nearly went it was THAT good. I got a chocolate shake and it was creamy, cold, and sweet. But not sickenly sweet, you know? Just right. This place is worth the stop and the time it takes to prepare your food fresh. Pop in and get a shake. Try a burger while you're at it. Let's do our collective part to keep little food stands like this around. We need more Mom and Pop places like Misty's.
